The Hasemi Sport S5 and The Hasemi Sport S5R are classic JDM Wheels from Speed Star Racing. The Hasemi Sport S5 shares the Electron Locking System shared with the more popular SSR EX-C Fin and Racing Hart Super Fin. The Hasemi Sport S5 are available in 14″ – 16″ diameters. The Hasemi Sport PROT S Type-R are JDM Wheels produced by SSR Wheels aka Speedstar Racing. These Hasemi Wheels feature a classic 6 spoke face with covered lug nuts/ faux centerlock design which was popular in the 90’s. Optional were the red blue center caps which were derived from which side the centerlock nuts go on on real centerlock wheels. Pictures in the ad were the Hasemi Sport Prot S mounted on an Nissan Skyline R32.
The Suzuka Sangyo Longchamp XR-4Z Kai are JDM Wheels which carries the 6 spoke tradition from the older and smaller SSR Longchamp XR-4. The updated Longchamp XR-4Z Kai by SSR Wheels are available in larger 16″-17″ sizes and have a more moders style organic face and barrel design. Pictured on the ad are the SSR Longchamp XR-4Z Kai on an R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R.
The SSR MK-IIIS & SSR MK-II R from Speed Star Racing were JDM Wheels based on older wheels from SSR. The SSR MK-IIIS is a design based off the olderSSR MKIII with its bigger spokes and alternating smaller 4 spokes. The updated version of the SSR MKIIIS has a full face on a reverse lip as opposed to the older small face on stepped lip. The SSR MK3 are pictured on a Honda Civic EG Series. The SSR MK-IIR has four rounded spokes also in a reverse lip, as opposed to the older SSR MKII which has four spokes but squared matched with a step lip. The SSR MK2R pictures are on a Nissan Skyline R32. Interestingly, I wonder if The SSR MKI had a modernized Version.
The Colin Star Series are Old School JDM Wheels manufactured by SSR Wheels. The Colin Star Shark Series includes the Colin Star Shark, Colin Star Shark II and the Colin Star Shark Mini. Most Commonly I see Colin Star Sharks on AE86 Toyota Corolla, and Datsun 510, however they are a nice touch on any Old School JDM Ride. The car in the advertisement is an older model JDM Toyota Celica XX, or Toyota Supra in other parts of the world. – Colin Star Shark by SSR WheelsThe Colin Star Shark is a 2 piece wheel which features a double 4 point star design with the front star polished and the rear star in its featured color. The Colin Star Shark II is a 2 piece wheel which features a 10 point star design with squared spokes. SSR Formula Mesh is one of the most popular JDM Wheels of all time. Produced in the 80’s The SSR Formula mesh is a simple 2 piece wheel, with a mesh face bolted with 20 bolts in to a welded barrel with a stepped lip. Speed Star Racing also made the SSR MK I, SSR MK II and SSR MK III wheels as pictured; thier classic JDM wheel line wich introduces the 3 piece wheel. Also pictured is the SSR Star Formula, a 6 spoke race inspired wheel. JDM Wheels – SSR Formula Mesh, SSR Star Formula, SSR MK I, SSR MK II, SSR MK IIII always wondered about the SSR Formula Mesh ith the rounded center portion, and it seems it was the design for Speed Star Racing produced for 16″ models; the smaller sizes get the regular Star shaped center sections. Later all SSR Formula Mesh models got the Star shaped centers up to 18inches. I personally think the 5 lug star centers look the best. The SSR MKII has a classic 4 spoke sqaured spoke design. The SSR MKIII has a design similar to the MKII, but with smaller spokes between the bigger 4. JDM Wheels – SSR GPO & SSR Alcyber by Speed Star Racing. If you were an old school JDM Wheel Whore in the mid-late 90’s you have to know everyone wanted two wheels, the SSR GPO and the Racing Hart Type-C; here is a rare wheel scan of the SSR GP-O and SSR Alcyber. Some people have referred them as SSR GP Omega due to the greek symbol, but that is actually a Theta symbol to make it the SSR GP Theta. The SSR GP-O is a two piece mesh wheel with a faux centerlock design really being the center cap; a very popular design at the time. The SSR Alcyber is the 5 spoke brother to the SSR GPO also with the faux centerlock center cap. Both wheels state sizing from 16×7 to 18×9.5, but I have seen 16×6.5 and 18×10 from the Speed Star Racing factory. Now does anyone else see similarities in the SSR wheels GPO and the Racing Hart Type C; or the SSR wheels Alcyber and Racing Hart Tracer? Well just about every JDM wheel manufacturer had a mesh and 5 spoke design at this time.
