SSR Formula Mesh is one of the most popular JDM Wheels of all time. Produced in the 80’s The SSR Formula mesh is a simple 2 piece wheel, with a mesh face bolted with 20 bolts in to a welded barrel with a stepped lip. Speed Star Racing also made the SSR MK I, SSR MK II and SSR MK III wheels as pictured; thier classic JDM wheel line wich introduces the 3 piece wheel. Also pictured is the SSR Star Formula, a 6 spoke race inspired wheel. JDM Wheels – SSR Formula Mesh, SSR Star Formula, SSR MK I, SSR MK II, SSR MK IIII always wondered about the SSR Formula Mesh ith the rounded center portion, and it seems it was the design for Speed Star Racing produced for 16″ models; the smaller sizes get the regular Star shaped center sections. Later all SSR Formula Mesh models got the Star shaped centers up to 18inches. I personally think the 5 lug star centers look the best. The Mazda B1800 is a compact truck from Japan which you dont see often these days. JDM Wheels – SSR GPO & SSR Alcyber by Speed Star Racing. If you were an old school JDM Wheel Whore in the mid-late 90’s you have to know everyone wanted two wheels, the SSR GPO and the Racing Hart Type-C; here is a rare wheel scan of the SSR GP-O and SSR Alcyber. Some people have referred them as SSR GP Omega due to the greek symbol, but that is actually a Theta symbol to make it the SSR GP Theta. The SSR GP-O is a two piece mesh wheel with a faux centerlock design really being the center cap; a very popular design at the time. The SSR Alcyber is the 5 spoke brother to the SSR GPO also with the faux centerlock center cap. Both wheels state sizing from 16×7 to 18×9.5, but I have seen 16×6.5 and 18×10 from the Speed Star Racing factory. Now does anyone else see similarities in the SSR wheels GPO and the Racing Hart Type C; or the SSR wheels Alcyber and Racing Hart Tracer? Well just about every JDM wheel manufacturer had a mesh and 5 spoke design at this time.
JDM Wheels Mugen NR-10 – The Mugen NR10 are Old School JDM Wheels produced by Mugen Power for use on Honda Automobiles. The Mugen NR10 is a lightwight Track Suitable wheel available in sizes from 13″ to 15″ Diameters and in 4×100 and 4×114 bolt pattern to fit all of Honda’s offerings at the time. Pictured in the advertisement is most likely a 15″ set on EG Honda Civic SiR Vtec.
